Tree Island B&B, Courtenay, Comox, Vancouver Island, British Columbia relax@treeislandbb.com 1-778-427-4001 ~ Come to Play and Be Prepared To Stay

We Want to welcome you into our home

coriandalice-at-beach larger 200We are Cori Sandler and Alice de Wolff, your hosts at Tree Island Bed and Breakfast and we want to tell you a bit about us… and we really do think we live in the most beautiful place on earth.  Now, we are sure there are many other wonderful and magical places to call home, but for us… well, this is the cherry on top of the cake!  We look out to Tree Island every morning when we rise and think we have THE best spot in the Comox Valley! We love looking out over Baynes Sound.

For many summers we visited this area from our home in eastern Canada.  Over time it became clear that we were going to have to find a home somewhere along the Salish Sea (Georgia Strait).  Three years ago we finally took the plunge to leave the big city.  It took a bit of searching to find just what we were looking for, but with a bit of door knocking, soul searching, and the generosity of people who live here, we found our little piece of paradise.  If you plan on visiting between October and May, are you ever in for a treat.  Alice’s dad, Doug lives with us and he is an extraordinary, interesting and interested member of our household.

We together and separately (Alice and Cori) are artists, musicians, activists, gardeners, computer geeks, stewards of the waters and forests around us, daughters, partners, great hosts and wonderful neighbours.

We are extraordinarily fortunate to call the Comox Valley our home. It just seems selfish, not to share our piece of ocean paradise with people just like you.

We encourage conversations here at Tree Island Bed and Breakfast.  We love to talk about our community, country and the things we find important in life.  We find it quite fascinating to learn about other people and places, and are interested in how we are both different and how we are alike.   There is always common ground to walk upon here.

We know you’ll have a really delightful time in the valley and hope you will enjoy your stay with us.  If there is anything that we can do before you arrive to make your stay here special, please let us know.  We hope to be your Vancouver Island B&B of choice every time you visit Courtenay and the Comox Valley and you find yourself wanting to stay in a b and b that feels more like visiting friends than anything else.

We live in a very quiet beautiful upscale seaside enclave looking out over the Salish Sea and the snow peaked coastal mountains. Our home is right across from the Ocean and with just a few steps and you can go and find shells, oysters, star fish, and fish ( salmon) can be caught right off the shore in season. Drive ten minutes south to watch sea lions congregate. It is the most magical experience to go and hang out with them. On any given day (in season) , you can see 50 – 100 sea lions basking in the sun.

We are avid gardeners and have both a lovely perennial garden and an extensive vegetable garden with beautiful raised cedar beds. You’ll enjoy some of our garden delights as part of your breakfast as we do our best to provide healthy, delicious, sweet and savory breakfasts with as many local ingredients as possible.
We are located a short drive from downtown Courtenay / Comox to the north and Buckley Bay to the south where you can catch a ferry to Denman and Hornby Islands for a magical day trip). The Comox Valley has wonderful walking and hiking trails, several beaches to walk on, skiing up at Mount Washington. Enjoy year round farmers markets, artists studios and galleries and museums and great restaurants including some that specialize is local products from cheese, to meats, to vegetables etc.
If you like to ski, be sure to come visit us in the winter months when Mount Washington is a flurry (no pun intended) with winter sport activity known around the world for excellent deep base skiing.
Take in whale watching, sailing, scuba diving, diving with the sea lions, fishing, hiking and caving. There is even a 5 star spa and hydropath a short walking distance from us. There is really so much to do in and around the Comox Valley.

We have ample parking here, a driveway long enough for an RV, but no plug in services.
We are easily accessible from both the north or the south along Vancouver Island and we’ll be sure to give you good directions once you have booked with us.

If you have special dietary restrictions, please be sure to let us know before your arrival and we will do our best to make you stay perfectly enjoyable.

Thanks for visiting Tree Island Bed and Breakfast.

Travel Well.
